To ensure the contents of the jar never touch the humi pocket/moisture source always leave a appropriate gap allowance and do not overfill the jar.
Refresh rock-hard sugar with a more moist sponge, but still never overly wet so its dripping. Stirring can help to speed up the rehydration process and without allow more time.
SugarBaby Saver-a more moist sponge will rehydrate hard brown sugar within 24-48 hours. A SugarBaby Saver full of rock-hard brown sugar will need more time, up to 48 hours. Less hard sugar will refresh within 12-24 hours.
The humi pocket-a more moist sponge will rehydrate hard brown sugar within 24-48 hours, but smaller sized wide mouth mason jars or less hard brown sugar will refresh quicker (usually within 12-24 hours). 1.5 L/50 oz and 1.9 L/64 oz are the largest wide mouth mason jar sizes-if also full of rock-hard brown sugar they will require more time, up to 48 hours.
Other food products-start from fresh as you can’t rehydrate alternate food products like hardened brown sugar. Use less water or a longer period between remoistening.
